How to play Vita Mahjong

Vita Mahjong is a calm mahjong solitaire: clear every tile from layered garden layouts by matching identical free pairs.

Match free tiles

Tap two identical tiles to remove them. A tile is free when nothing lies on top of it and its left or right side is open. Dimmed tiles are still blocked. Hints, three shuffles and unlimited undo help when you get stuck, and clearing the board unlocks the next of 14 layouts.

Daily Mahjong and streaks

Every day brings one shared board, chosen from the UTC date, so everyone plays the same puzzle. Solve it to grow your streak flame. Reaching 3, 7, 14 and 30 days in a row grants bonus power-ups, and your best time for each day is saved.

Power-ups

Clear a layout within its fast-clear target to earn a Shovel; clear it in 70% of that time to earn a Rewind too. The Shovel digs out any uncovered tile together with its twin, even if it is blocked sideways. Rewind takes back your last five moves at once.

Meditation, tile sets and stats

Meditation mode has no timer and no game over: when no pairs are left the tiles rearrange themselves while the colours slowly drift. In Settings you can switch between spring, summer, autumn and winter tiles and pick one of nine languages. The Stats screen tracks layouts completed, tiles matched, play time and streaks.
