How to play Tile Explorer

Tile Explorer is a calm picture-tile puzzle: move tiles into a seven-slot tray and clear them in sets of three.

Pick free tiles

Only bright tiles can be picked. Dimmed tiles are covered by tiles on a higher layer, so clear the ones on top first.

Make triples

Each tile you tap slides into the tray next to its twins. Three identical tiles vanish together. If all seven slots fill up without a triple, the level is lost.

Locked tiles

Tiles under ice and chains open once you clear a triple of the same picture anywhere on the board.

Helpers and stars

Use Undo, Hint and Shuffle when you are stuck, and send one tray tile back to the board once per level. Back-to-back triples build combos and earn up to three stars.

KeyboardArrow keys move the selection between free tiles (Down from the bottom row enters the tray), Enter or Space picks the selected tile or sends a tray tile back, H hint, U or Ctrl+Z undo, S shuffle, R restart, P or Esc pause, M mute.

TouchTap a bright (uncovered) tile to send it to the tray, or drag it onto the tray. Tap a tray tile twice to return it to the board (once per level). Use the bottom buttons for Undo, Hint, Shuffle and Restart.
